Dear BCS Community:

I am writing to inform you a member of our school community has tested positive for Covid-19. We are working closely with our ACSD Covid-19 coordinator, administrators, and consulted with the Vermont Department of Health to affirm and support our response. I am pleased to share that the individual was not present in school while contagious so there were no close contacts.

Thank you for understanding that, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release the name of the individual with COVID-19. We ask for compassion and sensitivity for all those involved. We will provide you with updated information as needed on our ACSD COVID-19 Dashboard

COVID-19 symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. Parents and guardians of students exhibiting symptoms are asked to contact their family physician, the VDOH, and their school nurse and principal. Staff exhibiting symptoms are asked to do the same in addition to notifying the ACSD COVID-19 Coordinator. As always, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. For more information about COVID-19 and contact tracing, please refer to this link from the Vermont Department of Health.

Please join me in offering well wishes for our affected school community member and all those affected by this virus worldwide. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or Kelly Landwehr (, our COVID-19 Coordinator.
