March 14, 2021 - MUMS

Hello Everyone,

Today we were notified a member of our MUMS community tested positive for COVID-19 and was considered contagious this past Tuesday 3/9/21. The affected person participated in an extracurricular activity but was not present in school while contagious. Led by ACSD’s Covid-19 Coordinator Kelly Landwehr, we have completed contact tracing and notified all ‘close contacts’ to quarantine. We are confident that we've shared all critical information related to this positive case.

At the direction of the Vermont Department of Health, we began contact tracing immediately. We would have contacted you directly if you are a staff member or parent of a student that had been considered a close contact of the person who tested positive. The individuals affected will be working with our team and the VDOH to determine when they can return to school. We remain in contact with the VDOH and will take the steps necessary to protect the health of our students and staff. For information on COVID-19 positive case process, please reference our ACSD COVID-19 Action Guide.

Thank you for understanding that, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release the name of the individual with COVID-19. We ask for compassion and sensitivity for all those involved. We are closely monitoring this situation and will provide you with updated information as it becomes available on our ACSD COVID-19 Dashboard

COVID-19 symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea. Parents and guardians of students exhibiting symptoms are asked to contact their family physician, the VDOH, and their school nurse and principal. Staff exhibiting symptoms are asked to do the same in addition to notifying the ACSD COVID-19 Coordinator. As always, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. For more information about COVID-19, its spread, and contact tracing, please refer to this link from the Vermont Department of Health.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact your building principal, school nurse or district COVID Coordinator.
