Dear ACSD Community,

Each week, I’ve been sharing news and updates on this weekly communication to keep our community connected and informed at a time when our schools continue to adapt to changing guidance. In this context, it can feel at times like we are in constant motion, like the ground beneath us continues to shfit. We’ve been in different states of change for many months now.

We’re a week away from Thanksgiving break, and I want to thank all for sticking with us as we make our way through the challenges we’ve confronted to put student learning and health/safety at the front of all of our work. The strain we’ve been under has made our reliance on working together as a community essential, and has required that we as a community step up for students and families. Thank you.

Following the Governor's press conference today, we are facing additional restrictions across the state as our COVID-19 case numbers increase. In meetings this week, Secretary French shared that the focus of the state's direction in responding to the pandemic was prioritizing education, and we'll continue to work alongside the Department of Health and Agency of Education in the weeks and months ahead.

Of note this past week was news of surveillance testing for Vermont school districts. In the weeks ahead, ACSD schools will begin surveillance testing of staff as part of a statewide push for better data to slow the spread of COVID-19. You can go here to learn more.
