As many of you may have heard, the Agency of Education shared the winter sports guidelines this week. Both MUMS and MUHS are working together to understand the guidelines and meet with coaches and other personnel to get ready to support healthy and safe athletics in ACSD. You will see that there are a number of changes from our normal winter season, with one of the biggest being no spectators at games.
Please look for more information from MUMS and MUHS over the next weeks as they outline some of the specifics that you need to know.
Vacation Travel There have been conversations across the state over the last month regarding travel during November and December and the challenges that this travel could have on COVID-19 transmission. This has included a number of press briefings from the Governor and his team. The Vermont Department of Health recently shared this document which provides a clear overview of state requirements around travel and quarantine.
There are currently no local or state-level plans for preemptive closure of schools.
A final note: I want to acknowledge the incredible commitment of this community, that has been stepping up for our students, staff, and families in so many ways. Thank you for making things work for all as we make our way through the pandemic and its challenges!
