Dear ACSD Community,

We welcomed back our grades 3-6 students this week, which completed our transition to five days a week of in-person instruction for our elementary students. The strain of working to support young students in remote learning while juggling work and home is a big challenge, and I know in talking to many parents and guardians that it’s been very tough to balance everything. The strength we feel in our schools and classrooms is directly related to the work that all of us in our community are doing to meet the challenges we face together.

As we’ve realized throughout the pandemic, we need to be prepared to respond to changes in Agency of Education guidance, COVID-19 transmission rates, and/or staffing shortages we face over the course of the year. We continue to learn from other districts across the state who are confronting some of these challenges, some of which you may have read about this week in statewide news. Thank you for being there with us to support student success and community health and wellness.

Final 2020-2021 Academic Year Calendar
We shared a draft calendar at the beginning of the year as we awaited legislative action on the school calendar. That calendar we shared is now final. There are no changes from what was previously shared. You can find it here. It will also be posted to our website.
