Return to Headlines

October 9, 2020

Dear ACSD Community,

On Monday, we welcome back our PK-2 students to five days of in-person learning. We have been busy preparing for our students, and elementary principals have been reaching out to their communities to share important information about specific changes to provide for a smooth transition. Please look for more information directly from your building principal regarding what’s ahead over the next two weeks at your elementary school.

Responding to COVID-19
ACSD continues to work with the Vermont Department of Health and Agency of Education to respond to state requirements and maintain healthy and safe schools. Our community experienced a significant spike in COVID-19 cases this past week, and I wanted to share that I am so impressed by the number of people that came together to respond thoughtfully and with an eye towards taking care of our entire community. We will continue to share information as we receive it and are prepared to respond should we have active COVID-19 cases in any of our schools following our established protocols aligned with Department of Health requirements.

Elementary Remote Learning Academy
As discussed in past communications, we’ve made changes to our elementary remote-only model to better support students and staff. All of the information on the new Elementary Remote Learning Academy can be found here. Please note that the deadline to enroll is this Wednesday, October 14.

Travel During COVID-19
Kelly Landwehr, our COVID-19 Coordinator, has an important update on the specifics around travel as we approach the holiday season. Please take a moment to read her update here.

Thank you for being a part of this amazing community.

Sincerely,

Peter Burrows
ACSD Superintendent
