Notice of Board Vacancy - March 2026
NOTICE of ACSD BOARD VACANCY
The Addison Central School District Board is announcing the vacancy of a Middlebury member seat that was not filled with the recent election. The Board has 30 days from March 3, 2026 to appoint a qualifying member to serve the 3-year term from March 2026 to March 2029.
Citizens interested in serving in this school board position must be 18 years or older and must be a resident of Middlebury. If you are interested in filling the vacancy, please send a letter of interest to Board Chair, Steve Cash, at scash@acsdvt.org no later than March 20, 2026. The letters will be shared with the full ACSD Board and the Middlebury Select Board as they have the option of weighing in. Interested parties will be invited to meet with the Board during open session at its regularly scheduled board meeting on March 23, 2026. The Board will then deliberate in executive session and vote upon the completion of deliberations in open session, notifying the candidates soon thereafter.
The ACSD Board is made of 13 elected members who represent the citizens of Bridport, Cornwall, Middlebury, Ripton, Salisbury, Shoreham, and Weybridge. The Board’s mission is to provide high quality, equitable, and varied learning environments that inspire a passion for learning and growth among our students. Board members represent the interests of all students in the district, not just the town in which they live.
