Chelsea Colby 2nd Grade
I grew up in Meredith, New Hampshire with my parents and younger brother, Trevor. My mother is a physical therapist and my father is an elementary guidance counselor. Trevor is now a senior studying engineering and running track at Dartmouth College.
I moved to Vermont five years ago to attend Middlebury College. At Middlebury I studied dance, environmental studies, and elementary education. I am excited to look for ways to bring my interests into the classroom and to bring the students out into the beautiful classroom of Vermont. Upon graduating, I taught 2nd grade at Mary Hogan School. This is my first year at Cornwall School and I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community!
When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me outside swimming, hiking, ice skating, and nordic skiing. In my down time I love to read, play board games, and watch the sunset with my roommates from our porch.
As a teacher, I hope to model the attributes of a lifelong learner for my students and share my passion. I want to ensure that all students feel supported and a sense of belonging in school. I want to empower the next generation of learners and democratic citizens to all do the best they can for their community and the world. I am looking forward to a great year at Cornwall School!
