Welcome to the Ripton Ridge Run!
The Ripton Ridge Run is held annually in the Green Mountains of Ripton, Vermont on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend in October. The race offers challenging 10.4K and 5K courses, a non-competitive 5K Walk, and a Fun Run for Kids through the woods on the grounds of the Ripton Elementary School. For more information, please visit riptonridgerun.org.
The race began in 1987 at the site of the former elementary school (now the Town Offices) in "downtown" Ripton. Since 1989, the race has been held at Ripton Elementary's school grounds on the Lincoln Road in Ripton. The continued success of this event is thanks to a tireless committee, hundreds of volunteers, and the support of loyal business sponsors.
All proceeds from the Ripton Ridge Run go to Friends of Ripton School (FORS) and directly benefit the PreK-6th grade students of Ripton Elementary School. FORS is a non-profit volunteer organization which provides funding for academic programs, extracurricular activities, special events, and supplemental materials to enhance and enrich the school environment and students' experiences as part of their learning in the Ripton Elementary School community.
