Hello! Welcome to Speech & Language Pathology support services at Middlebury Union Middle School, Middlebury, Vt.My name is Maureen K. Delaney, M.S., CCC-SLP. I am a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) providing services in the areas of evaluation, intervention and consultation. I began my educational career in Art & Psychology and soon found my way into the field of Communication Disorders at Elmira College, Elmira, N.Y. I obtained my B.S. at Geneseo State University, Geneseo, NY and my MS in Communication Disorders at the College of St. Rose, Albany, NY. My education through continuing education courses is ongoing. I am certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment Program (LSVT), and have particular expertise & experience in Social Thinking (ST), Autism Spectrum Disorders, Augmentative & Assistive Technology (AAC), Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Dysphagia,Speech and Language Impairment, (Swallowing Disorders), voice disorders including Vocal Cord Dysfunction (VCD) as well as fluency disorder (stuttering).Depending on the student's needs, services are offered in the areas of Listening Comprehension, Oral Expression, Social Thinking, Augmentative & Assistive Technology, articulation, voice and fluency. This intervention is offered to students who have been diagnosed with a Learning Impairment or Disability, Speech & Language Impairment or Disability, ASD and/or Other Health Impairment. SLP services are scheduled within the student's daily schedule to support their social, emotional and academic progress. As an SLP, I work closely with the school team including, though not limited to, the Special Educator, teacher, school administrator, school guidance and counselor, school nurse and other support services such as Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT).
