Outdoor learning at Lake Pleiad
  •  About FORS

Friends of Ripton School (FORS) is a group of volunteers from the community who work together to support the Ripton Elementary School community in making our school the best it can be.  Funds generated by FORS are used to support and broaden Ripton Elementary’s academic program through extra curricular activities and events.

We organize fundraising projects throughout the year, as well as specific school and community related events.   The group meets regularly during the school year to plan upcoming events and approve funding requests.   We are also a forum for discussion on a variety of school and community related issues.   Typically, our members are parents of students at Ripton Elementary. However, we invite any interested community member to join us.   Some examples of community involvement in the school include: teaching knitting during Activity Period; reading a story at lunch time; helping to supervise recess;  driving for field trips; doing a cooking project; singing; dancing; teaching martial arts; doing art projects and more.

We know that Ripton is rich with diversely talented community members who might be interested in spending time at the school.  We welcome your interest and involvement at any level.

     Mission Statement

The Friends of Ripton School (FORS) provide the Ripton Elementary School support through volunteering and funding to enhance and enrich the school environment by facilitating academic programs, extracurricular activities, events, and materials, which are designed to meet the expectations and changing needs of the school throughout and beyond the academic school year.

     Summer Program

The FORS summer camp has combined with Mary Johnson Children’s Center Croutons program to welcome Ripton children who are entering PreK through 6th grade for the 6-week summer program housed at the Ripton Elementary School.
