Hello. I am Jan Broderson and I teach math on the Mosaic Team. I believe in growth mindset and that all people can learn math.  My classes learn math through exploration and working with peers.  Students are expected to engage in mathematics regularly and communicate their learning to others.  I use the Common Core standards for math to frame my learning outcomes and the Common Core practices as the strategies for reaching the outcomes. Students share their thinking in front of the class and listen to and critique the work of others.  We practice how to respectfully disagree and critique the math, not the person presenting.
