From my earliest memories. I recall a chalkboard and some white, dusty chalk.  I remember the sound of the chalk hitting the board as I taught my stuffed animal pupils the lesson of the day. I always knew I wanted to be a teacher!  I spend my days in this mode, raising my two daughters and teaching literacy skills at Middlebury Union Middle School.  In my life outside of MUMS, I spend lots of time with my family including my husband, Kelly, and my daughters, Hailey and Ashley.  In the winter, I also enjoy skiing and cooking (and eating!) comfort food.  When the temperatures start warming, I start planning my garden; and by summer, I take great pleasure in cooking and eating the foods I grow.  Perhaps my favorite thing to do in the summer is spending time playing on our boat on Lake Champlain.  In between all of this activity, I love being with my dogs: Cosmo, a black lab, CJ, a chocolate lab, and Lulu, a miniature dachshund that we took in as a rescue in February 2015. Between my students at school and my family at home, I feel fulfilled in so many ways.  I am so very thankful for all the experiences and opportunities I am afforded as a result of my profession and my personal life.
