Degrees and Certifications:
B.A. in Anthropology from Middlebury College Elementary Education Teaching Certificate, State of Vermont
Ms. Mindy Harvey
I am the third and fourth grade teacher at Cornwall School. This will be my sixth year here, where I have taught fourth grade or a combination of third and fourth every year. I have done a lot of farm-to-school work, including units on the agriculture of the Champlain Valley and extensive gardening excursions to Middlebury College and beyond. My class are the primary caretakers of Cornwall School’s chickens. I love teaching math and talking with kids about awesome books. One of my newer interests is working with kids on self-direction and emotional regulation so everyone can learn how to access their learning in the best way possible.
Before Cornwall I spent just over a year working at a theme-based private school, teaching primarily second and third graders. I have a BA from Middlebury College in Anthropology and a certificate in Elementary Education from the state of Vermont. I have done extensive continuing education in mathematics and literacy, as well as stress and trauma-informed teaching practices. After school I can usually be found riding or working at a local barn, where I competed in jumping over the summer. I live in Ripton with my husband Patrick and dog Rava, who likes to take me out for long walks in the surrounding woods.
