ACSD FY26 Budget Development

The Budget Development Process

Our FY26 Budget development process began in October 2024 and concludes in January 2025. A final budget is presented to the ACSD School Board in January for approval. Once approved by the ACSD Board, the FY26 Budget is sent to the voters to approve on Town Meeting Day, March 4, 2025.  We are working to create a spending plan that protects and preserves the trust of our voters, advances the work of our Strategic Plan, and honors the values that have led to widespread and historic support of public education within our ACSD community. Upcoming/Ongoing Opportunities:

  • ACSD Board meetings: The public is always welcome to attend and offer public comment at any Board or committee meeting. Information and links about ACSD Board meetings can be found here and committee meetings can be found here. Upcoming meetings of note:

    • Monday, January 6 @ 6:30 offered an overview of the full ACSD FY26 Budget spending plan. Find the recording recording and materials presented here.

    • Monday, January 13 @ 6:30 & Friday, January 17 @ 6:30: Budget discussion & anticipated Budget approval

  • ACSD Staff Q&A ~ Tuesday, January 7 @ 3:30, Superintendent Baker will hold a Budget Q+A for all ACSD Staff. Details sent to staff by email. 

  • Public Input Session for the ACSD Community ~ Thursday January 9 @ 6:30pm. Superintendent Baker will host a discussion for the ACSD community to ask questions and share feedback.  To access the meeting, click this link (password: ACSD)

  • Many decisions that impact our budget are made at the state level. You can find your legislator's contact information to share your perspective here: https://legislature.vermont.gov/people/

Past Opportunities:

  • On October 22, 2024, ACSD hosted community conversations to inform the first draft of our budget. These meetings were held simultaneously in the MUHS library and at Bridport, Cornwall, Ripton, Salisbury, Shoreham, and Weybridge schools. All ACSD community members were invited to join any location.

  • Community members were also invited to share their thoughts through a written survey. The full results of the community conversations and the survey were shared with the ACSD Board.
