WE TRY OUR BEST
When we Try Our Best we are practicing a Growth Mindset. This helps us understand that tackling challenges and learning new things takes a lot of effort. We don't give up when things get difficult, because we practice strategies to persevere. We take risks, participate in new learning opportunities, and know that mistakes are normal when people try hard/new things. We learn from making mistakes!
For the Family
Have each person in your household think about something that is hard for them and share about it. You can’t choose for someone else, they must name something that is hard for themselves. Talk about how you might overcome it.
Think about a goal or task you could do as a family during this remote learning time. How will you plan to accomplish it together?
Carol Dweck- The Power of Yet… (Video)
Mindfulness and Meditation:
I THINK I CAN: Think about things you didn’t think you could do, but have learned to do over the last two months of remote learning.
NEVER GIVE UP: Think about a time you wanted to give up, but didn’t. Share it with someone else.
A BEAUTIFUL OOPS: An Oops is a mistake and making mistakes is how we learn and grow. Think of how you can turn an Oops into something beautiful. Try it!
YET: What is something you can’t do yet? What will you do to make it happen?
