Professional Learning and Collaboration

  • ACSD's professional development goal for 2022-2023 is to rebuild community and strengthen systems of support to ensure access, success, and belonging for ALL.

    Major initiatives include

    • A K-8 focus on Responsive Classroom and a 9-12 focus on Restorative Practices to invest in community, connection, and building a strong foundation of belonging to support positive behavior and academic success.
    • Role-specific training to strengthen our Multi-Tiered System of Supports.  For example, classroom teachers will focus on refining their IB curricula through the lens of Universal Design for Learning (UDL); interventionists will study Response to Intervention (RtI) alongside building leaders and co-design improved intervention systems; special educators will learn the ins and outs of special education rule changes; nurses and counselors will focus on health and wellness curriculum collaboration.
